Welcome to the Alpen-Kilt hike in Obervellach!
A celebration of friendship and adventure! The landscape: mystical, rugged and beautiful. The people: tough, but warm and above all sociable. And the fashion: authentic, sustainable and plaid! For eleven years now, the Mölltal valley has also had its own very special "Highland Games": the Alpine Kilt Hike through the Groppenstein Gorge.
The event organized by the Mölltal Tourism Association together with Nathaly and Thomas Rettl is one of the most sociable and original hiking kick-off events in the Hohe Tauern National Park region and along the Alpe-Adria-Trail. Sport, fun, good humor and team spirit guarantee a special kind of experience under the motto "Together in the countryside!".

The most important thing right at the beginning
FUN and ENTERTAINMENT are very important on the Alpen-Kilt hike!
Whether young or old, alone or in a team (up to 4 participants), everyone is welcome to take part in our hike. For those who would like to come alone or in pairs, we offer the option of joining a full team of 4 on site.
The conditions of participation are simple: bring a good mood and follow our loosely interpreted "dress code". A kilt is not a must, but we are happy to receive plaid leg dresses or shirts, dirndls or lederhosen.
Program
- From 10:00 a.m.: Registration at the leisure center/campsite
- 12:00 pm: Start of the 11th Alpine Kilt Hike
- from 15:00: CARDED MARKET TIME on the main square
- from 17:45: Performance by the BigBand of the Mittleres Mölltal school cluster
- from 19:30: Award ceremony of the Alpen-Kilt team competition*
- Entertainment with the top band "Showdown" and "1868 Rettl Fashion-Inszenierung"
The winning team will receive a voucher worth € 500.00 from Rettl 1868 Kilt & Fashion as well as other great team prizes.
